Autumn Fruit and Nut Oatmeal

Ingredients

1 apple

1 TSP butter

1/2 TSP cinnamon

1 pinch cloves

2 cups water

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/8 salt

2 TBSP cranberries

1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

2 TBSP maple syrup
Directions

Chop the apple into bite sized pieces. Add 3/4 of the apple pieces, butter, cinnamon, and cloves to a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes until apples begin to soften.

Add the water to the pot. Place a lid on the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Once the water is boiling, add the oats, dried cranberries, and salt. Turn the heat to medium low and cook for 5 minutes or until the oatmeal thickens.

Once the oatmeal has thickened, add the chopped walnuts and maple syrup, adjusting the sweetness to your preference. Top with the remaining apples and enjoy!
